"I came into the CIRP REU program unsure of whether a research career was for me. Through working on the highly interdisciplinary UPLIFT team of brilliant, passionate professionals, I discovered that research is deeply collaborative and creative. Furthermore, being involved in an implementation-based, naturalistic study showed me that research is capable of making an immediate impact as well as a distant one. This program played a key role in steering me toward applying for a PhD—and the amazing connections I made with top professionals in the healthcare field as well as the invaluable research skills I learned will, without a doubt, be pivotal for my journey there!"
