2025-2026

"During the summer of 2025, I had the pleasure of serving as a Injury Science Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) intern for the Center for Injury Research and Prevention (CIRP) at CHOP. This experience was nothing short of transformative, providing me with the opportunity to conduct preclinical research in Dr. Akiva Cohen's lab, while also developing professional skills alongside an incredible cohort of interns under the guidance of Chelsea Ward Mcintosh. Through Chelsea's support, I was fortunate to continue my work at CHOP starting September 2025 as a part-time research assistant working on the Autism and Driving Project under Miriam Monahan. This opportunity not only furthered my clinical research experience, but also reinforced what I already knew to be true: the culture at CHOP is consistently a collaborative and supportive one.

While it is difficult to choose, I'd have to say that one of the most valuable aspects of my time at CHOP was the relationships that I built. Across every team that I was a part of, CHOP consistently fostered an environment centered on growth and community. There was never a direction I looked that I didn't see someone in my corner willing to support me in trying to learn everything that I can. When I was unsure of my career path, Dr. Flaura Winston was there to provide me with guidance and resources. When I was interested in partaking in clinical research, Chelsea allowed me to observe a clinical trial.

Following my time here, I will be starting at Epic Systems as a Project Manager, working on the implementation of health systems in hospitals across the country. I am confident that I would not be where I am today without the mentorship, opportunities, and support that I received at CHOP, and am forever grateful to the people I have met during my time here."
