Just being in the office at the Roberts Center for Pediatric Research, I could observe all the current projects and how research impacts human lives. I also learned how influential research is in policy decisions on a mass scale, extending to federal laws.

"This summer, I had the pleasure of being a Student Research Assistant for the Driver Education Research (DRIVER) Study. As someone who had only conducted research at college, this was the first time I got to practice it in the industry, and I was lucky to do that at CHOP. I learned more about research than I could have ever imagined.

The Center for Injury Research and Prevention at CHOP had an outstanding team. Just being in the office at the Roberts Center for Pediatric Research, I could observe all the current projects and how research impacts human lives. I also learned how influential research is in policy decisions on a mass scale, extending to federal laws. One of humankind's greatest triumphs is asking questions and pursuing knowledge in the hope of making positive change. CHOP constantly reinforced the idea of caring for research participants and their lives as a driving force in helping to bring about this change. As a student studying Sociology and Psychology, I immersed myself in the epicenter of my interests and encouraged those around me to try it out and get involved."
