Digital Communications Intern (Summer 2019)
"During the summer of 2019, I had the opportunity to work at CIRP as a Digital Communications Intern with the Outreach and Advocacy team. In this role, I learned so much about how to translate research and data into information that can aid audiences like medical professionals, stakeholders, and parents. Writing is something that I really enjoy, so I was really excited for the opportunity to contribute to CIRP's social media platforms and websites. I also gained practical skills by learning all about video production, Google Analytics and website design. I learned that writing and social media are things that I truly enjoy and would love to incorporate into my future career.
I will graduate from Gettysburg College this spring with a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Writing Concentration. After that, I am happy to say that my options are pretty wide open. After my summer internship experience at CIRP, I would like to pursue a career in Advertising, specifically Copywriting. I thank the entire Outreach and Advocacy team for bringing me even closer to knowing what I want to do. During my time here, I learned that I want to do something that combines social media with writing and that I want to pursue a creative career. I give full credit to the mentorship of Christine Norris, Suzanne Hill, and Lindsey Mitros for guiding me this summer. It was my best summer yet!"
