"I landed at CIRP with a general propensity for academia but without a direction for which to aim my professional sights. After working at CIRP, I left as a fledgling academic researcher and biomechanics project manager ready and able to contribute to my field."

Graduate Research Assistant (May 2019-January 2022)

"About one year after graduating from college, I pursued a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. About one year after completing that degree, I was offered my first full-time job. During that time – from May 2019 to January 2022 – I worked at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Center for Injury Research and Prevention (CIRP) as a Student Research Assistant supporting engineering and epidemiology studies. I also served as a peer mentor for three consecutive summers to the Center’s summer interns.

I landed at CIRP with a general propensity for academia but without a direction for which to aim my professional sights. After working at CIRP, I left as a fledgling academic researcher and biomechanics project manager ready and able to contribute to my field. The precious nuggets of mentorship during my time at CIRP have ultimately propelled me forward in my career. I am grateful to have had my first meaningful career-related experience after college at a world-class institution, in the company of world-class professionals."
