Kristen L. Kohser, MSW, LSW is a licensed social worker with over 15 years of experience in program management. At Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's (CHOP) Center for Injury Research and Prevention (CIRP), she is Program Manager of the Violence Intervention Program, which provides client-centered, family-focused intervention services for assault-injured youth and their families during and after a hospital visit. The program promotes physical and emotional healing, and prevents re-injury. Kristen also works with the Center for Pediatric Traumatic Stress and the Center for Violence Prevention, providing trainings to healthcare providers on Pediatric Medical Traumatic Stress and Trauma Informed Care.

Kristen came to CHOP by way of Georgia, Tennessee, and San Francisco. Her prior work has involved working as a mental health clinician with children and families, intensive case management with homeless veterans, and on community-based and community-driven research. Kristen holds a BA in Sociology and an MSW in Social Work from San Francisco State University. Kristen can be reached at
