Valarie Meiser, MS, LPC is an Outpatient Trauma Therapist at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where she provides trauma-focused therapy to children and families involved in CHOP's Violence Intervention Program (VIP) and Family Advocacy and Support (GRIT/FAS) programs. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families across outpatient, crisis, and community-based settings. Valarie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and holds a Master of Science in Community and Trauma Counseling with a specialization in Child Trauma and Play Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. 

Valarie is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child-Centered Play Therapy, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Prior to her current role, she has provided clinical services across diverse settings, including CHOP's Behavioral Health Crisis Center and several community mental health agencies. Valarie has also shared her expertise by presenting play therapy case studies through Jefferson's Trauma Education Network and serving as a guest speaker for Thomas Jefferson University's Community and Trauma Counseling Program. Her clinical interests include trauma-informed care, violence prevention, and enhancing caregiver-child relationships to promote healing and resilience.
