Leigh Ann DiFusco, PhD, RN is an Affiliate Research Scientist at the Center for Injury Research and Prevention (CIRP) at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Penn School of Nursing and the Penn Injury Science Center. Dr. DiFusco’s research focuses on promoting health behaviors among adolescents with chronic health conditions.
Her 20-year tenure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Perioperative Services and Cardiology at a freestanding children’s hospital has catalyzed her interest in examining the impact of risky health behaviors on physiologic well-being among adolescents, especially those with congenital heart disease (CHD). Her recent work focuses on examining health behaviors among adolescents with CHD, with a specific focus on barriers and facilitators to safe driving. Dr. DiFusco received her MS in Nursing and Healthcare Administration from the University of Pennsylvania and her PhD from the University of Delaware.
