Over the past 15 years, Laura Vega, MSW, LSW has worked extensively with high-risk youth in a variety of youth and family-service settings. She has worked in child welfare agencies, behavioral health, community outreach, and hospital-based social work. She currently serves as the lead Violence Intervention Specialist for the CHOP Violence Intervention Program. Laura has extensive training in trauma-informed practice, which infuses her work and is trained in the Sanctuary Model. She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI). She also serves as a member of the Center for Pediatric Traumatic Stress National Committee.
Laura received her Masters of Social Work from Marywood University, and will be pursuing a PhD in Social Work at The University of Pennsylvania beginning in Fall 2016. Laura can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
