The Minds Matter Concussion Program at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is partnering with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 BrainSTEPS team and the Centennial School District to offer "Concussion Management in the COVID Era" for community partners.
These virtual Concussion Education Pop-Up Sessions are free and will also provide Act 48 credits:

Concussion Recovery Patterns in the Virtual Learning Environment
Presented by CHOP Pediatric Sports Medicine Specialist Matthew F. Grady, MD, FAAP
This session will look at the different trends in recovery with virtual or hybrid learning environments. It will provide an overview on changes in recovery, symptom resolution, and virtual learning.

Concussion: Managing the Ever-Changing Learning Environment
Presented by CHOP Sports Medicine Pediatrician Christina L. Master, MD, FAAP, CAQSM, FACSM
This session will discuss the medical aspects of concussion and differential diagnosis of symptoms from concussion and the impacts of being on digital learning platforms for long periods of time. This session will also explain how medical teams are working with families and schools to support this new return to learn obstacle.

Concussion: Translating Academic Adjustments to the Virtual Setting
Presented by CHOP Nurse Practitioner Lindsey M. Calandra, MSN, CRNP
This session will focus on recommendations from the medical setting as they relate to online learning. From a medical perspective, the presenter will discuss how providers determine what may benefit a student's academic success in the virtual/hybrid learning environment and the challenges of implementing these recommendations.

Concussion and COVID-19: Getting Our Student Athletes Back on Track
Presented by CHOP Athletic Trainer Katherine A. Easby, DAT, LAT, ATC
This session will present the unique challenges student athletes may face when they return to learn and play during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Act 48 credits will be awarded to those who are interested once attendance is verified.
