The Hoverboard Problem Continues
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are approaching, and if you are thinking about purchasing a hoverboard, think again. Just this week, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled more hoverboards due to risk of fire. The culprit remains the same- defective lithium ion batteries.
Since 2015, there have been more than 250 incidents of hoverboards overheating or causing fires, including house fire that killed two children. The CPSC estimates that hoverboards have caused more than $4 million in property damage.
