Last Chance to Register for Webinar on Preventing Child Trafficking

August 10, 2017

Next week, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Violence Prevention Initiative (VPI) will be presenting a free webinar for social workers and other healthcare professionals entitled "Human Trafficking In Adolescents: Understanding the Issues as a Service Provider.” Child trafficking, also known as commercial sexual exploitation or sex trafficking of minors, remains a complex and unaddressed form of violence against children and adolescents. There are an estimated 100,000 victims and 300,000 youth at risk in the United States. As a result of the hidden nature of child trafficking and reluctance of victims to disclose this abuse, recognizing warning signs and identifying trafficked children remains a challenge.
